: WaveForm semantic normalisation & transport across AI modalities
WaveForm carries, preserves and verifies meaning as machine-readable semantic state moves across AI workflow and representation boundaries — with high fidelity, integrity, auditability and drift resistance.
"WaveForm™ (WaveInform / WaveReturn / WaveTransform)" prepares and verifies semantic representations as they move through AI workflows. It provides deterministic boundary handling designed to stabilise meaning without silently rewriting intent, and to measure continuity as representations change between systems
WaveForm is meaning-in-motion, not meaning-as-a-point.
Identity under transformation—not approximate resemblance.
WaveForm operates on machine-readable semantic representations; source extraction or embedding generation may occur upstream.
: The Problem
AI workflows increasingly move important material across multiple boundaries:
- human instruction → structured prompt;
- document → extracted text;
- code → model-readable representation;
- one model → another model;
- one machine-readable representation → another;
- generated output → downstream agent or application.
At each boundary, the content may remain superficially similar while its operational meaning changes.
- A condition may become an assumption.
- A qualification may disappear.
- An instruction may be softened.
- Structured relationships may be flattened.
- Code, tables or document hierarchy may lose context.
- A later model may act upon a plausible approximation rather than the original intent.
Standard transport mechanisms verify that data arrived. They do not verify that meaning survived.
This creates several recurring problems:
Silent semantic drift
Small changes accumulate across multi-step workflows. Each individual transformation may appear reasonable, while the final output no longer faithfully represents the original instruction, document or structured state.
Modality mismatch
Different models and tools expect different representations. Material prepared for one system or representation may be poorly interpreted by another, especially when moving between prose, code, documents, structured data and tool-execution formats.
Boundary ambiguity
Unstructured inputs often contain unclear sections, mixed instructions, embedded data, delimiters, metadata or nested structures. Without deterministic preparation, a receiving model may misidentify where content begins, ends or changes function.
Loss of structure
Paragraph hierarchy, table relationships, code boundaries, document sections, labels and other structural signals may be weakened or removed during extraction, conversion or relay.
Unverified transformation
A downstream result may be accepted because it looks coherent, even though no comparison has established whether essential meaning, constraints and relationships survived the transformation.
Weak auditability
Conventional workflow logs can show which models or tools were called, but not whether semantic continuity was preserved at each boundary.
Vendor and model inconsistency
Different models interpret the same representation differently. A workflow that performs reliably with one provider may drift when routed through another model, modality or toolchain.
Tampering or unexplained mutation
Inputs and outputs may be altered, truncated or reformatted during processing without a clear, tamper-evident record of what changed and where.
WaveForm addresses these problems at representation boundaries. It prepares semantic state for movement, verifies continuity after return or transformation, and produces evidence of how faithfully meaning survived the boundary.
: What is WaveInform / WaveReturn / WaveTransform?
The WaveForm API is a bidirectional semantic boundary protocol.
It separates inbound preparation from outbound continuity verification into two distinct boundary primitives:
➤ WaveInform — boundary preparation (input).
➤ WaveReturn — boundary verification (return).
WaveInform and WaveReturn are complementary components within the same coordination layer — together enabling verified, meaning-preserving transport across multi-hop AI workflows and modalities — preserving semantic continuity, not just resemblance.
➤ WaveInform prepares semantic state for stable movement across representation boundaries.
➤ WaveReturn verifies continuity after transformation or relay.
➤ WaveTransform combines preparation and return-side continuity verification in one coordinated flow.
They operate as semantic transport and transformation with audit-ready integrity checks — coordinating meaning across representation boundaries used by modern AI systems:
- Meaning integrity across multi-step workflows
- Drift detection with clear boundary checks
- Tamper-evident receipts to document what happened
- Model-agnostic routing (works across different vendors and tools)
It is akin to the difference between:

It is not mandatory to use both endpoints, or the discounted WaveTransform bundle. ➤ WaveInform: prepares / stabilises a semantic representation for boundary transport.
➤ WaveReturn: verifies continuity after processing and returns a validated transport/model-ready representation.
➤ The WaveTransform API endpoint option offers the discounted combination for convenience. |
: Security Posture
WaveInform / WaveReturn+ focus on preserving and verifying semantic continuity across representation boundaries.
